CODE OF CONDUCT

Sierra Snow Gliders Code of Conduct

As members of Sierra Snow Gliders, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all individuals. Our code of conduct outlines the values and behaviors we expect from our members to foster a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. By adhering to these principles, we can maintain the integrity of our club and promote a culture of respect, support, and camaraderie.

Respect and Inclusivity:

We value diversity and treat all individuals with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, or ability. We foster an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Sportsmanship:

We embrace the spirit of sportsmanship both on and off the slopes. We encourage fair play, integrity, and respect for fellow skiers, instructors, resort staff, and the environment. Engaging in unsafe or reckless behavior that may endanger oneself or others is strictly prohibited.

Safety:

We prioritize the safety and well-being of our members. We abide by all resort rules, signage, and guidelines. We encourage responsible skiing practices and awareness of our surroundings to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries. It is everyone's responsibility to act in a manner that promotes a safe skiing environment.

Cooperation and Communication:

We value open and honest communication. We encourage members to actively engage with one another, provide support, and offer assistance when needed. We embrace a cooperative mindset, working together to create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Environmental Stewardship:

We are committed to preserving the natural beauty of the mountain environment. We respect the resort's rules regarding littering, wildlife, and environmental conservation. We encourage sustainable practices such as recycling and minimizing our ecological footprint.

Personal Responsibility:

Each member is responsible for their own actions and decisions. We encourage individuals to ski within their own skill level and to seek appropriate instruction and guidance as needed. It is important to be aware of and adhere to personal fitness levels, health conditions, and equipment maintenance for a safe and enjoyable skiing experience.

Conflict Resolution:

In the event of conflicts or disagreements, we encourage members to address them in a respectful and constructive manner. Open dialogue, active listening, and finding common ground are essential to resolving conflicts. If necessary, involve club leaders or designated individuals to mediate and find equitable solutions.

Representation:

When representing Sierra Snow Gliders, whether in person or through online platforms, we expect members to uphold the values and positive image of our club. Use respectful language, avoid offensive or inappropriate content, and promote a supportive and inclusive environment.

Members are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and shall not engage in any criminal activity or in conduct detrimental or degrading to the interests of the ski club. The club reserves the right to suspend or revoke any membership for breach of this code of conduct. By embracing and adhering to this code of conduct, we can foster a strong sense of community, personal growth, and friendship within Sierra Snow Gliders. Let's ski with respect, support one another, and create a memorable skiing experience for everyone involved.
